Story

Welcome to the Pandemic Affordable Housing Bike Ride. This is a now annual bike ride put on by Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition to celebrate Affordable Housing Week and Bike Month. Information about the previous ride which mirrors this ride is here: https://bikesiliconvalley.org/2019/05/wheelie-home-affordable-housing-and-bikes/ and information about the Bike Coalition's work in affordable housing can be found at this link: https://bikesiliconvalley.org/2018/10/bikes-and-housing-measure-v/. Both articles have links to click through and learn more about housing.

How this works is there are pictures with links to information about each housing development for you to learn more. The end goal is two-fold. 1) for people who ride bikes to learn more about affordable housing during Bike Month and Affordable Housing Week, leading to a deeper appreciation by the people who ride bicycles of the role affordable housing plays in the bike movement and 2) for affordable housing advocates to experience a little bit of life by bike by routing folks through some good examples of bike infrastructure.

For those learning about the bike movement, please feel free to peruse the Bike Coalition website and importantly, get involved in Bike Month by pledging to ride here: https://bikesiliconvalley.org/pledge-ride/.

Please reach out with questions and we'll be happy to answer. shiloh (@) bikesiliconvalley.org

Have fun and ride safe!
