Story

This popular route starts at the BikePartners Bike Shop in Historic Railroad Square in Santa Rosa. We jump on the Prince Memorial Greenway trail, then transition to the Joe Rodota Trail which takes us all the way to Sebastopol. All Class 1 bike path, open to bicycles and walkers only. 7 miles each way, for a flat 14-mile round trip.
The Prince Memorial Greenway parallels Santa Rosa Creek
The Joe Rodota Trail crosses the Laguna de Santa Rosa -- a Ramsar Wetland of International Significance.
The Joe Rodota Trail traverses an oak savanna open space buffer that separates the incorporated cities of Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. Look for the majestic Valley oak trees! In Sonoma County, the voters do not like urban sprawl!
The route ends at The Barlow, a fun collection of shops and services, patterned after the historic apple processing facility that once was located there. Grab lunch at The Community Market, and check out the shops, drinking establishments, and restaurants.
The nonprofit Community Market is a great place to grab coffee, snacks, or a meal from the hot buffet.
Pop over to Sebastopol town center just to the west to experience this quaint small town, one of the more progressive you'll find anywhere.
Don't miss Screamin' Mimi's for the best ice cream on the planet.
Return to Santa Rosa the same way you came -- and check out the views from the other direction!

Enjoy the ride!
