Story

For this bike adventure, I decided to take my trusty sidekicks, Phoenix and Ramsey, along for the ride!
NOTE: The section from SEDALIA to PALMER LAKE on 105 is not for the faint of heart -there is NO SHOULDER the entire way. No place to stop- no gas stations, restrooms, etc. There are ample rolling hills to sock it to your legs and likely ample traffic as well (including trucks and semi traffic). While this is the only real option for a road connector and is the most commonly ridden-route by cyclists, I would not characterize it as safe due to the volume of overtaking traffic. Know before you go.
Our destination for the weekend: the Buffalo Lodge Bike Resort, in Manitou Springs, COS
We enjoyed our time inside of Bear Creek Lake Park and Chatfield State Park on bike paths/in bike lanes.
The Sante Fe Trail which starts at the Palmer Lake trailhead and makes its way south through Monument and through the Air Force Academy, into COS, is fantastic and gorgeous --but please note, it's also not paved. I did this on my Cannondale Topstone gravel bike -you wouldn't likely want to do this on a road bike.
Once you get to the Bike Resort with your bike, you'll feel right at home. It's a wonderful place, welcoming and a friendly community! Check out the Saturday rides and other activities and events!
