Route 2 of the Ride Solo series happened to be a reverse of the first loop. Its always gratifying to ride a route in the opposite direction and this was no different. It was like riding completely different roads, and the best part was that all the climbing was at the beginning.
I had seen social media posts with a photo of a llama that lived on a farm along this route. We never did see the llama, but we did come across a tiny baby snapping turtle making its way across a road. The day was somewhat humid and warm, and I had foolishly chosen to wear a pair of socks that I knew were past their prime. The socks complained and bunched up and made for some miserable miles for my feet. When we pulled into the American Legion parking lot, the first thing on the agenda was to send the socks to the bottom of a dumpster.
