Story

This ride starts out on a beautiful, newly-paved bike path! A quick ride along highway 18 on a separate paved path is wonderful.
The first stop is downtown Burlington, KY. There are some really beautiful old (and new) buildings used for shops, taverns, government, etc. I would highly recommend the Tousey House Tavern. The food is AMAZING. There are several antique shops and even a quilting cabin.
After a quick spin on some side roads, we're back on a paved bike path and traveling past the beautiful England Idlewild Park. The park sits on 290 acres and holds several pavilions, baseball/softball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, playgrounds, dog park, and most importantly for us, 1.8 miles of paved walking/cycling path AND 6 miles of unpaved mountain biking path!
Once we're out of reach of the park, it's all backcountry roads for a while. If you're a fan of climbing, this section is for you. There's a total of 1,437ft of climbing on this route!
The climbs are 110% worth it for these Kentucky mountain views!
Finally, we reach our destination: The Creation Museum. Located in Petersburg, KY, the state-of-the-art museum allows you to venture through biblical history, stunning exhibits, a planetarium, a 75,000sqft facility, PLUS beautiful botanical gardens, zoo, zip line adventure course, and much more... You can get ticket information on their website: https://creationmuseum.org/
