I'll be getting out mostly every day this week (barring bad weather) to enjoy the outdoors and physical activity. This is a fun little dirt ride straight from my door to Standley Lake Regional park via the Rocky Mountain Greenway meandering next to one of the many farming canals in Arvada.
First, a healthy climb heading north - great warm up!
Tires on dirt 1 mile away from my house.
The Rocky Mountain Greenway goes through three Wildlife Refuges in the Denver Metro area. This section takes you through the Two Ponds National Wildlife Refuge.
Dropping into Standley Lake Regional Park, there are some fun choices for singletrack offshoots, double track and gravel road with great views of the mountains on a clear day.
Singletrack along the lake - careful on a windy day!
Long, thin, gradual descent. Point it straight and concentrate!
Continuing the descent running through some pointy Yucca. Then lollipop it home!
