Story

Had to take a quick break between grading papers and emailing students to get in what miles I could before reporting to the other job.
The roads around Stillwater are mostly dried out after our recent rainfall, but the water has left them all newly rutted out. Most pleased.
I very nearly cracked my rim on a section like this on a frequently traveled road. Riding gravel around here requires constant attention. Maybe that's why it helps clear my overpopulated mind.
Confession: I sought out this mudhole on purpose. It didn't disappoint either. Wheels sunk five inches into the "ground," and I had to walk it out.
It wasn't all mud and rutted out gnar, though. Stretches of fast, hardpacked clay made this a beautiful, quick ride.
Can't get enough of this road.
I've thought before that this bike can't get any more badass, but my new Easton carbon bar and Vittoria mudslingers are proving me wrong.
Nice little bridge where I almost got run over by a farm rig while trying to get a quick picture.
